Custom software

Custom Software for the Way Your Team Works

If your team spends its day copying records, chasing approvals or checking several versions of the same information, the next step may be a better workflow. ZeroBytes helps you compare existing tools with a custom system, then builds around the work you actually need to manage.

Problems we look into

Not every spreadsheet needs replacing. These are the signs that one has reached its limit.

  • The same record is typed into more than one place.
  • Nobody is sure whose job a step is, or whether it was done.
  • Follow-ups are missed because they live in someone's head.
  • Some people should see part of the data and currently see all of it, or none.
  • Two copies of the same file disagree, and nobody knows which is right.

What we build

Staff portals

For Excel Tutors, one portal runs five branches: enrolment, attendance, staff performance, DBS applications, complaints, book orders and invoicing.

CRMs and admin panels

Customer records, their history, and the screens your team uses to act on them.

Approvals and workflow automation

A request moves to the right person, waits for a decision, and leaves a record of who decided.

Reporting and data pipelines

The numbers you rebuild by hand each month, produced from the records themselves.

Integrations

Connections to the systems you already run, so information is entered once.

How we scope it

  • Map one real process, start to finish, with the people who do it.
  • Compare it with existing products. If one fits, we will tell you.
  • Agree a first version small enough to test.
  • Test it with the staff who will use it.
  • Migrate the data from the old system and check it.
  • Train your team, document it, and hand it over.

Ownership and running costs

Custom software is priced per project. There is no starting price to quote honestly, because the scope decides it.

  • You own the work from day one: the code, the design files, the domain and the hosting account are in your name. Because they are yours, their renewals (the domain each year, the hosting plan, any paid third-party service) are yours to pay; we set them up and tell you what each one costs before you commit.
  • Every project includes 60 days of free fixes after launch. A fix is anything that does not work the way the written scope says it should. New features and changes to the agreed scope are quoted separately, and after the 60 days you can carry on with an optional monthly care plan or take everything over yourself.

Questions buyers ask

Can you connect the tools we already use?

Usually. Each integration is named in the scope, so you know which systems will be connected before the quote is agreed.

Can we get our data out later?

Yes. The database is in your account and the data is yours, so you can export it at any time.

What counts as support, and what needs a new quote?

Something that does not work as the scope describes is a fix, and fixes are free for 60 days after launch. Something the scope did not include is new work, quoted before it is built.

Start with one task

Tell us about one repeated task that causes the most trouble. Include who handles it, what information they need and what happens when it goes wrong. We will help assess the simplest useful next step.
