The useful question is not simply “How much does a website cost?” It is “What does my business need the website to do, and what is included in that price?” A five page business site and a customer portal may both open in a browser, but they are very different projects.

This guide explains the decisions behind a quote, using ZeroBytes' published starting prices as a concrete reference. These are our starting prices, not a survey of every agency in Bangladesh, and a starting price is not your final quote.

Start with the job, not the number of pages

A tuition centre may need course information, a clear location, and an enquiry form. A service business may need customers to book an available time. A distributor may need staff accounts, stock records, and approval steps.

Write your main outcome in one sentence: “A parent can find the right course and send an enquiry without calling us.” That sentence makes scope easier to discuss than “We need a modern website.”

Then list the actions visitors and staff need to take. If the list includes logins, saved records, payments, or permission levels, you may be budgeting for a web application rather than a simple website.

ZeroBytes' starting prices

Our published packages provide a starting point for a scope discussion. The following figures were checked against our pricing page on 4 October 2026.

Project type Starting price Typical published timeline
Business website ৳15,000 1 to 3 weeks
Web application ৳60,000 4 to 10 weeks
iOS and Android app ৳90,000 6 to 12 weeks
Custom software Quoted per project Scoped per project

Our business website package lists custom design, mobile friendly layouts, SEO basics, domain and hosting setup, and 60 days of free fixes. Setup is not the same as paying renewal fees forever: ask which third party charges are included in your written quote.

The things that move the price

Design and content. A clear, concise site needs decisions about messaging, page structure, photography, and brand assets. Ask who writes and approves the copy, and whether photography or illustration is included.

Functionality. A contact form is different from an appointment system that checks staff availability, prevents double booking, and sends reminders. Describe the entire workflow, including what happens when something goes wrong.

Integrations. Connecting a payment provider, an existing database, or another business tool adds requirements. Someone has to handle credentials, failed requests, and testing, not just the successful demo.

Content management. Editing opening hours is a small task. Managing hundreds of products, several languages, or different staff permissions is a larger one.

Migration. Moving an existing site includes checking URLs, transferring content, and planning redirects. A redesign should not quietly discard pages customers already use.

What a useful quote includes

Ask for a document that answers these questions:

  1. Which pages, templates, and features will be delivered?
  2. What content and accounts do you need to supply?
  3. How many design review rounds are included?
  4. What does launch testing cover, forms, phones, keyboards, and payment failures?
  5. Who owns the domain, source code, and design files?
  6. What support is included, and what counts as new work?
  7. Which costs renew, and who pays them?

Compare two proposals against the same list. A lower headline price may exclude content, migration, or handover; a higher one may include features you do not need.

A useful quote makes the boundary of the project clear. It should explain both what you get and what you do not get.

Remember the costs after launch

Plan for the domain, hosting, business email, paid plugins or services, and maintenance. A site that accepts bookings may also use paid messaging or scheduling services. Those charges can be separate from the build.

Ask what happens if the site needs an update, an account expires, or your provider is unavailable. Keep ownership of important accounts with the business and document how to recover access.

Keep the first version focused

Separate the scope into needed to launch and useful later. Your first version might need service pages, trust building information, an enquiry form, and an easy way to update content. A complex dashboard can wait until there is a clear reason for it.

Do not remove testing, accessibility, or essential maintenance just to reduce the initial number. Reduce optional features first.

A good starting brief contains your business goal, your audience, the actions the site must support, examples you like, and a list of existing content or systems. That gives a team enough information to ask useful questions and write a meaningful quote.

If your scope is still unclear, read our guide to choosing between a website and a web app, then compare the relevant ZeroBytes services.
